A Meeting in the Air

A Meeting in the Air (written with a Charismatic slant) is the story of David Post and Trish Ivey, who experience spiritual growth and much more as they help each other through life’s difficulties. David struggles for answers in his newfound faith, Trish wallows in self-pity, having suffered through a lengthy deception and painful divorce. David is challenged to leave his dream of operating his own photography shop. Trish tries to flee the hurts of the past but finds herself second-guessing recent decisions. Using everyday circumstances, God causes David and Trish’s paths to cross, then charts a course that results in their growth and fulfillment. To be sure, life has its arrows, but God uses them for good in this story of unselfish love—everyday arrows intercepted by a caring God who changes hurts and loneliness into love, strangers into friends, distant family into loved ones, and schedules, as a grand finale, A Meeting in the Air!

The State of Christianity

The State of Christianity takes a prophetic-type look at the body of Christ and America and where the two of them are heading. Ever-increasing onslaughts against the church from various entities results in legislation that restricts Christians from accomplishing their work as commissioned by Christ. But true Christians become repulsed by the blight of a decaying society and frustrated with their failure to reverse the nation’s moral decline. They never give up nor succumb to the forces of opposition. Instead, they seek God’s direction for an alternative plan, which comes as an exodus of sorts. Arriving at a central point in the country, they unite, living so profoundly different, prosperously, and peacefully that the rest of the crumbling nation can’t help but notice. Obedient Christians making tremendous personal sacrifices to live according to the mandates of their faith; following the prompting of The Holy Spirit, the way it has been throughout the history of Christendom. Call them new pilgrims, radicals, or fanatics for Christ, but as always, call them victorious!

Upcoming Titles

Restoration Builders, Inc.

And hopefully I am not getting ahead of myself or the time God has for me on this planet, but as He sends the words to my fingers, I will continue recording His stories. I have just finished writing the initial draft of Restoration Builders, Inc. An unusual story of a construction company that has a unique program to help their valued employees who are struggling with drugs or alcohol addiction. Building homes and churches are just part of the company's portfolio. Lives caught in darkness, helped by a caring company and God's grace, to find new lives from old.

This story follows the decline and fall of Chester "Chet" Mullins, a framer for H&M Construction Company. His alcohol consumption has been increasing ever since junior high school. He and his girlfriend Candy Fortner drink every opportunity they get, however, once married, Candy desires a more stable and less reckless life. Divorce inevitably follows as does the possibility of losing his job. Chet somewhat voluntarily, joins the rehabilitation program and the story follows his addiction, admission, angst and recovery as well as an unintended consequence--SALVATION. It's a long, long road, but with each day's victories, no matter how big or small, life becomes a series of small miracles. H&M Construction Company (AKA: Restoration Builders, Inc.) is determined to build more than houses and churches. They put the restoration of lives at the top of the list of things they build.

Carla

Carla is the story of a fifty-five-year-old woman who longs for the friendship that she sees and knows others have. As an only child, born into a military family, she  experiences all the highs and lows that a military dependent knows all too well: The constant moving from base to base; the disruption of studies caused by mid-school year relocations; potential friendships that never seem to get any traction; and always the new kid in the classroom without the possibility of long-term relationships. The guys seem to adapt easily, but the girls have it harder. Cheerleaders have already been chosen, but a new guy with a 9.7 second 100-yard dash or linebacker quality physique seem to move right into acceptance and establish friendships.

Carla completes her high school studies; goes to college and musters bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business and with full-time employment, finally gets the chance to stay in one place without the threat of moving. Therein lies the continuing problem—friendships. Scarce would be tolerable—non-existent is her  reality. Her only friend is God, but it takes her a while to see him in that light. When an opportunity arrives for a young co-worker to be her assistant, a friendship—a lasting deep-seeded friendship ensues bringing Carla closer to God in ways she didn’t know possible and her friend to salvation.
